Tooth-colored, or composite fillings, are a discrete way to fill cavities and mask other imperfections, such as cracked and broken teeth. Dr. Jason Kasarsky, a Manhattan cosmetic and implant dentist, will precisely match the filling color to blend in with the rest of the patient’s natural teeth. Tooth-colored fillings help to restore the smile by treating cavities, cracks, and chips. Dr. Kasarsky uses tooth-colored fillings for new concerns as well as replacing old metal fillings.

"Dr Kasarsky and his team are truly wonderful people. They are professional, patient and kind, always putting the patient at ease right away. I was given an appointment quickly and everything was explained to me clearly and thoroughly throughout the procedure. I would recommend Dr. Kasarsky to anyone but in particular to those who may feel anxious at the thought of having dental work done."- N.O. / Office Visit / Dec 09, 2016

During the treatment process we will use resin or porcelain material for the filling and it will be shaded to match the color of the patient’s natural tooth. Once the area with tooth decay is cleaned, a filling will be created and bonded to the tooth. Typically, resin fillings can last at least 15 years if the patient practices good hygiene, including regular brushing and flossing.
Estimate of Cost@headingTag>
Patients can expect to pay between $225 - $500 per tooth for a filling. This price varies among patients and depends on the number of teeth needing to be filled and the material being used for the filling. Patients should check with their insurance provider to determine if this procedure is covered fully or partially by their care plan.
Will They Last?@headingTag>
If the patient practices good oral hygiene with brushing, flossing and professional teeth cleanings, tooth-colored fillings typically last for 15 years or longer.
Special Care for Fillings?@headingTag>
Although there are no special care instructions for tooth-colored fillings, it is important for patients to practice good oral hygiene to maintain their filling, as well as prevent any further damage to the teeth. Patients are asked to brush and floss daily and schedule regular dental exams and cleanings.
Do I Have a Cavity?@headingTag>
We use advanced diagnostic tools, such as digital X-rays, to confirm a cavity in the tooth, but patients may consider scheduling an appointment to have their teeth checked if they experience a toothache, tooth sensitivity from hot or cold, or if they feel pain while chewing. Annual dental exams can make it easy for the dentist to detect problems, like cavities, as they develop.
